Perhaps we bend our souls
to different divinities
You, with your tidy, ordered world
the garden neat, peripheral
uncluttered by useless ornament
haunted by discontent, concern
the rise and fall of house prices
Me, well, home's a place to live in
even if ramshackle, untidy and all
overgrown with lush and lovely weeds
content to dwell among the last
endangered hum of bees
